When was the last time you drove out of town?
We used to take road trips often. On rainy Saturdays, we used to just drive around, usually exploring an area we had never been before. Unfortunately, gas prices are way too high for us to do that often. To go anywhere, we need a good reason. The last time we went somewhere was Saturday, April 19th. We went up north of Chicago to check on a beautiful piano and purchase it. (We still need to figure out a way to get it from there to here.) Before that, our trip to NC. The next time we plan on going somewhere is in June for a family reunion. That will be our summer vacation as well and we'll be staying here for the rest of the summer.
What was your favorite road-trip of all time?

When I was little, I remember this one and it seems to stick with me. My aunt and her three kids flew in to see us at our home in eastern TN. We packed up our pop-up trailer tent and we all piled into my parents car, my 5 person family and all of them. Yes, I said car, not van. It was a big Buick with a three person front and back seat. This was before seat belt laws. I was the oldest and I think I was 7 years old. Anyway, we took them all the way back to their house in Phoenix, AR. Then my family continued on to Yosemite in CA and then we headed back to TN. It was a lot of fun.
Another trip I really enjoyed was with my family, except my Mom who had to stay behind because she was taking college classes, I think. Anyway, it was June when I was 15 and we traveled up to Colorado and saw the Green River, we went all the way up to its headwaters. It was so beautiful. A lake formed from all the melted snow from the surrounding mountains. While we were up there it snowed. My sister and I cuddled in our van to wait out the snow. My brother and Dad had gone hiking in the mountains. We all thought it was cool. Good thing we'd brought warmer clothes. After we were done camping there, we traveled up to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.
I remember one other trip when I was 12 going out to Yosemite as well and seeing the Badlands on the way back, I think, but I don't remember quite as much about it.
I remember a whole bunch of other vacations. Walt Disney World, Miami Beach staying at the Fountain Blu Hotel, my Dad taking me on a historic tour of Concord and Lexington, MA (I saw Louisa May Alcott's house), going up to Canada, and many times of camping in the Smokey Mnts.
I haven't been up to Maine or down to Louisana or up to Oregon or Washington, so sometime I'd like to go there.
