Show us something you made.
I recently got my first sewing machine and am just figuring out how to use it. Here are a few things I have made. The rice heating pad was made for my friend, Sarah. I have made one for my mother-in-law, Jeremy, and for Jeremy's co-worker's pregnant wife. The first picture is with the rice all pushed to one side, which works great if you want pressure put on a muscle. She told me that it worked great like that for her yesterday when she needed the pressure, but not heat. Jeremy and I have enjoyed heating them up. Mine was actually made by a friend on Etsy before I got my sewing machine. My husband kept taking it, so I had to make him one. The bag is a small child's purse. It is my first attempt at that sort of thing.

Ok, so this isn't mine, but it is a friend of mine. I think he did a great job, so I'm sharing it with you today. Sorry about the bad lighting. Hard to get good lighting in this kind of place. (or so I'm told, since I've never been to one) I'm not one to video myself much and I don't like listening to my own voice (I criticize everything about it when I hear it.) Someday, I may do one of my songs. We'll see.
Show us your favorite literary character.
Hmmm, I don't feel like looking up pictures for this hunt, so I'll just tell you.
I totally like Jo from Little Woman. She amused me quite a bit. I also like the way she grows into a wonderful woman in Little Men and Jo's Boys. Those are some of my favorite books.
Another one I like is Ginger in Black Beauty. Going from a bad tempered horse to a sweet and gentle one with the loving care of people who knew what she needed and wanted to help her.
AND.. since I've gotten into Discworld series, I like reading about Rincewind's adventures, the antics of the Librarian, and Commander (Sir) Vimes quest for justice. In a way, I also get quite a kick out of the Patrician, Lord Vetinari.

This isn't actually a DIY website, but the things she makes and posts on her blog are great and inspire me to want to try learning to knit again.
